The 17th and 18th Convocation ceremony of Selvamm Arts and Science College (Autonomous) was celebrated with pomp and glory on 14th May 2022. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. R. Jagannathan, Vice Chancellor, Periyar University, Salem and delivered the convocation address.
The Lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked an auspicious beginning, along with a Prayer song by the students which invoked the divine blessings of the Almighty upon the young graduates. This was followed by an endearing welcome address rendered by the Principal Dr.N.Rajavel. He presented the convocation report of the batches 2017-20 and 2018-21. A total of 1778 students graduated among them 1454 are under graduates and 324 are Postgraduates.
The chief guest was introduced by Dr. K. S. Arulsamy, Administrative Director cum CoE. The felicitation address was given by Dr. P. Selvaraj, Chairman, Selvam Educational Intuitions and Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary. The Convocation address was given by the Honourable chief guest carried a message that the role of youngster in building the nation to the world class level. The proud recipients of the gold medals, who are the toppers of the 15 UG programmes and 08 PG programmes made a grand prelude to the convocation ceremony, followed by 1778 fresh graduates, who walked up magnificently in their convocation robes to be conferred with their degrees.
The Convocation ceremony came to an end with a formal Vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, stakeholders, management, teaching and non teaching staff for the success of the event.
