International Virtual Conference on Recent Trends in Functional Materials.

Department of Chemistry in Association with Selvamm Institution’s Innovation Council (SIIC) conducted a Two Day International Virtual Conference on “Recent Trends in Functional Materials [RTFM-2022]” held on 23rd & 24th March, 2022. Dr.N.Rajavel, Principal welcomed the gathering and released the proceedings of the Conference. Felicitation was given by Administrative Director Dr. K. S. Arulsamy. The inaugural address was given by Dr. A. Subramania FRSc., Professor, Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, Pondicherry University, Puducherry. In Day-1 the first session was chaired by Dr.Gunasekaran Velmurugan, Research Scientist, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Heidelberg, Germany on the topic “Optoelectronic Applications: Computational Landscape – Fiction and Science”. The Second session was chaired by Dr. S. Kamalesu, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Institute of science, Punjab on the topic “Role of Ruthenium (II) Polypyridyl Complexes in Renewable Energy Materials”.

In Day-2 the Third session was chaired by Dr.T.Rajeshkumar, Postdoctoral Associate, LPCNO, INSA, France on the topic “Novel Bimetallic Metal-Organic Frame work-Based Catalyst for Propylene Hydrogenation: A DFT study”.   The Fourth session was chaired by Dr.K.S.Rajmohan, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, NIT, Warangal, Telangana on the topic “Functional nanomaterials for Energy generation & Energy storage Devices”.  In the valedictory session, Principal Dr. N. Rajavel welcomed the gathering, and felicitation was give by Administrative Director cum Controller of Examination Dr. K. S. Arulsamy SASC, Namakkal. Dr. G.Chandramohan, Associate Professor in Chemistry & Research Advisor (Rtd), A.V.V.M. Sri Pushpam College (Autonomous) Tanjore, addressed the valedictory. To conclude, the vote of thanks was given by Dr. M.Muthukkumar, Organizing Secretary and Head Department of Chemistry, Selvamm Arts and Science College, (Autonomous), Namakkal.  In accumulation, totally 270 members participated and 60 participants presented papers in the Two Days International Virtual Conference.
