Department of Physics, has conducted a National Conference on “Recent Trends in Advanced Material Science (NCRTAMS-2018)” on 5th February, 2018.
The Conference was inaugurated by the President, Dr.P.Selvaraj, Selvam Educational Institutions, Felicitated by the Secretary, Dr.B.Kaviethira Nandhini, Administrative Director, Dr.K.S.Arulsamy, Principal Dr.N.Rajavel, and Vice-Principal’s Mrs.K.K.Kavitha, Dr.P.Thamaraiselvan and Dr.K.Gunasekaran.
The Opening Ceremony had a special welcome from the Convener, Mr.S.Padmanathan, Dean & Head, Department of Physics. Special Address was given by three Chief Guests, C.K. Jayasankar, Professor, Department of Physics, Sri Venkateswara University, Thirupathi, Andhra Pradesh had delivered on “Recent Trends in Rare Earth Doped Materials for Optical Device Applications” and Dr.S.Gunasekaran, Dean (Research & Development), St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, St. Peter’s University, Chennai and Former Registrar, Periyar University (Salem) addressed to “Attenuated Total Reflectance(ATF) Technique – A Fortune to FITR Spectroscopy for Materials Characterization” and then Dr.P.M.Anbarasan, Professor, Department of Physics, Periyar University, Salem, also addressed on “Recent Trends in Laser Development and Multidisciplinary Applications to Science and Industry”.
More than 200 students from various colleges were participated and 40 students presented their Research papers through Oral and PPT presentation as well. Finally Mr.P.Pachamuthu, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, had delivered the Vote of Thanks.
