The status of autonomy conferred up on the institution called for the establishment of the office of Controller of Examinations, in July 2011. This office is entrusted with the task of conducting semester examinations twice a year, the odd semester in November and the even semester in April.
Proper conduct of the examinations and publication of results followed by issue of mark sheets as per the accepted time schedule, constitute the motto of the controller’s office.
The following tasks are vested with this office:
- Issue of exam application forms & hall tickets,
- Question paper setting,
- Central valuation in the campus,
- Publication of results &
- Issue of mark sheets.
The college has adopted the new question paper pattern as envisaged by the TN State council for Higher Education, with effect from November 2013. Accordingly, internal-external ratio is fixed at 40:60; the internal marks constituted by means of monthly tests, seminars, assignments, attendance etc. The external marks – 60% -come within the purview of the semester exams conducted by the controller’s office.
The learner-oriented teaching and evaluation system of this institution reflects in this office conducting all the arrear exams along with the regular papers so that the students could make use of this facility and get their degrees at the close of their programme, without fail.
